Blizzard Beach is a large water playland right in the middle of the Disney magic. While it offers a variety of ways to splash, Blizzard Beach is also very unique in that Christmas music can be heard in August, a ski lift helps transport guests to the major slides, and snow drifts are part of the decor!
If you are visiting Walt Disney World this summer, we highly recommend you visit one of Disney's water parks. They offer plenty of magic and fun for the whole family, and Blizzard Beach is no exception! That is why today were are listing and discussing the slides and watery fun available for kids at this incredible, and outrageous, water park!
Tike's Peak-This play area is for the little members of your family! It's a mini-model of Blizzard Beach featuring baby slides, shallow pools, water jets, and adorable ice gator statues and a castle.
Melt-Away Bay-This is Blizzard Beach's wave pool where you can bob on the waves in a tube or splash with kids in the surf at the shallow edge of the pool. However, be warned that you may have a hard time pulling them away!
Cross Country Creek-Blizzard Beach's lazy river is a gentle and popular attraction! You and the kids can relax as you float around the park, passing by humorous sights, snow drifts, and even through a melting ice cave!
Teamboat Springs-This attraction is one of the longest family raft rides in the world and is suitable for both kids and adults! On Teamboat Springs, you and the family climb aboard a huge circular raft as you slip and slide all the way to the bottom, it's thrilling but gentle enough for little ones too.
Ski Patrol Training Camp-This play area is designed especially for school age kids with its several slides and even T-bar zip line! Another popular attraction at the Ski Patrol Training Camp is the iceberg course where kids hang on to a net overhead as they make their way across floating foam icebergs! It's a great place for kids to run off some extra steam while parents can rest!
"Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney on Wheels and those of you just hopping
aboard. I am the Final stop on our Magical Blogorail."
This month's theme is our Secret Shame, one thing that we, as Disney bloggers, are embarassed to say we have never done! So here we go...
We at A Glass Slipper Vacation.com are ready to confess that we have never ate at...The California Grill!
It's shocking; but true. Despite being avid users of the Disney Dining Plan, and taking advantage of some of Disney's best restaurants, we have yet to visit the California Grill at The Contemporary Resort.
For those of you who don't know, the California Grill is a Signature Restaurant located on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort. While it's naturally famous for its classy, delicious cuisine, the real draw is the bird's eye view of the Magic Kingdom, especially during the park's firework display, Wishes!
Every night, the most amazing fireworks display explodes over Cinderella Castle with it's story about the power of wishes, along with a sweet and inspiring soundtrack and a narration by Jiminy Cricket. If you happen to be dining at the California Grill during Wishes, the music and Jiminy Cricket's voice is pumped into the restaurant for guests to hear; and then they get to watch the fireworks from their lofty view of the park. Cool, right?
While we think so too, we just never have made it to this restaurant to sample it's food or it's magical nighttime entertainment as we usually end up on the bridge over Tomorrowland or on Main Street watching Wishes. But someday...we will splurge on the California Grill and then blog all about our experience and post a review. So stay tuned!

Frequently Asked Questions About Tipping At Walt Disney World Very informative, definitely check this post out!
Courtest of Chip&Co.com, see Unforgettable Disney Easter Memory at Walt Disney World Resort.
Do you know where these photos were taken in the Disney parks? Test your knowledge at Where in the World Are You, Disney Edition: Of Mouse and Man.
~At Animal Kingdom Lodge, balloons are not allowed in the lobby; but are kept and returned when you depart. Keep this in my mind if you buy a Mickey balloon on Main Street U.S.A.!
~A common question is whether or not you can visit other Disney resort pools. Disney discourages this practice; and at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club's popular Stormalong Bay pool, you have to show your room key to gain access.
~Many guests make "Thank You" cards for MouseKeeping along with a tip. It's a great way to spread a little Disney magic of your own!
~Wilderness Lodge offers a free tour of the lobby and its historical artifacts!
~Preferred/Premium Rooms, in our experience, are overpriced and unpredictable at times. For guests who truly need to be closer to the lobby, it may be a good investment; but if you don't have health problems, we recommend saving that extra cash.
~Have your kids leave their stuffed animals in clear view when you leave your Disney Resort room. Mouskeeping sometimes arranges them in your window or on your bed for fun!
~Some Disney Resorts show Disney movies on a screen outdoors for guests to watch! See if your resort does!
~Some guests don't know that you can visit all of the Disney Resorts, even if you are not a guest there.
~Several resorts, particularly the Deluxe Resorts, have extra forms of entertainment going on for guests! Look into taking advantage of these opportunities when you receive your check-in packet or ask for the times at the front desk.
~Check to see if your Disney Resort offers a Hidden Mickey list, so you can do a little Hidden Mickey hunting during your stay.
~The Disney Deluxe Resorts sometimes offer more than one gift shop and tend to offer different merchandise that you would find throughout the rest of Walt Disney World. So for all of you shoppers, be sure to do a little resort hopping during your stay!
~If you choose to stay at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort, you will have a gorgeous view of the Boardwalk and easy access to its dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities!
~If you happen to lose your "Key to the World," visit your resort's front desk. They can make a replacement!

This cute tank is currently $34.to and features sketches of not only Aurora, Cinderella, and Snow White!
This long sleeve, striped Cinderella tee is currently $44.50 offering both comfort and elegance!
So what do you think? Would you purchase any of these tops? Share with us and our readers!
Disney's PhotoPass is a professional photography service that you can take advantage of at the parks, resorts, Downtown Disney, and even at the water parks! You can find professional photographers, bearing the PhotoPass logo, stationed at picturesque points around the resort, such as in front of Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, at character spots, and even at the base of Teamboat Springs at Blizzard Beach!
If you get your picture taken by a PhotoPass photographer, (and all you have to do is ask as they take it on the spot!), they will give you a card. The next time you visit a PhotoPass photographer during your vacation, you can just hand them your card which which holds the photos; and when you get home, you can view your photos free before deciding whether or not to purchase them. You can even add a little extra magic, such as characters or logos!
Now the question is, is PhotoPass worth it?
We have taken advantage of PhotoPass in the past. We even used one of our PhotoPass purchases as our Christmas card this past year; but then again, we have visited Walt Disney World and have not used this service at all. So here's our analysis of this service.
If you are a guest who is looking for professional family photos, a high quality way to preserve your magical memories, or you're someone who just doesn't like carrying around a camera, then PhotoPass may be for you. However, for guests on a budget who like to take their own pics for their photo albums and scrapbooks, we don't think PhotoPass is worth it.
First of all, like most things at Disney, the price for your PhotoPass photos is a little pricey. Secondly, you can have a PhotoPass photographer take a photo for you without the price! Guests may not realize that PhotoPass photographers are truly willing to take a picture for you with your own camera! All you have to do is ask! Also, in our opinion, if a high quality photo is what you're after, use your money to invest in a great camera which will serve you long term rather than spending money for a short term service than you can be done yourself for free.
In addition, other guests at Walt Disney World are usually so friendly that it's not unusual to ask others to snap a photo of you and the family for you; and be sure to ask if you can do the same! Therefore, our verdict is that you can get great photos of you and the family at Walt Disney World without the high price; but, as always, we want to know what you think! What is your opinion of Disney's PhotoPass? Share your experiences, and your own verdict of this service, with us and other readers below!
