Walt Disney World is known for its attention to detail and great design; and one of my favorite examples of magical Disney design this is their window displays. Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney, and the Magic Kingdom are home to some of Disney's best window displays which showcase Disney products and souvenirs in clever ways or display scenes from Disney movies and cartoons.

Many of our favorite Disney World window displays can be found at the Magic Kingdom; and the window we are featuring today can be found at that very park in Fantasyland, just next door to Cinderella Castle in one of the Castle Couture's shop windows!

This particular window is a scene from Disney's classic movie, Sleeping Beauty! Here you will see Sleeping Beauty's pink dress suspended in air, much like when the three fairies were busy trying to make it for Briar Rose's birthday with their magic wands!

You will see a basket of yarn, spools of thread, and other dressmaking materials in this window; and my favorite element is a book showing designs for a blue and pink dress, paying tribute to the fairies' argument over whether Briar Rose's dress should be pink or blue!

Be sure to check out this royal window display at the Magic Kingdom, we are sure you will be as charmed as we were by this example of Disney's great design!

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, there is a a clever, little hidden photo spot that you may have passed by and never noticed! Located on Sunset Boulevard, the same street that is home to Rock n' Roller Coaster and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and across the street from Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage right in front of a shop, you will find a Route 66 road sign with a stack of old fashioned luggage underneath!

This is a great photo spot, but many people don't even notice it because it's in a congested area and draws little attention to itself. Its location also keeps many guests from spotting due to the fact that it sits on the curb near the trash cans and benches. However, the families and individuals who do find this vintage road sign enjoy climbing on the luggage and posing for a great pic!

Hollywood Studios has several little hidden gems that pay homage to the world of Old Hollywood, and this particular hidden gem is a little piece of the "Main Street of America", the road that transported Americans to that Hollywood  world, Los Angeles! Be sure to look for this spot on your next visit to Hollywood Studios; and if you have found this hidden gem on your vacation, be sure to let us know!

Dooney and Bourke has released a new line of Disney themed purses and these new bags display a print themed after Minnie Mouse's trademark bow!
As always, these Disney Dooney and Bourke purses come in several sizes, including a wristlet.

These purses also offer two different backgrounds, black and white with the bow print on both. Pictured to the left is the white background. As of right now, these purses are hard to come by, particularly at the parks; but now that the holidays are over, we are hoping to see more of them.

We think this particular design is a great addition to the Disney Dooney and Bourke collection; and for those grown-up Minnie Mouse fans, this is must-have item! What do you think? Is this purse on your shopping list?

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is known for its delicious restaurants with American style fare; and we recently discovered at this resort's quick service dining location, the Roaring Fork, you can enjoy above average breakfast choices!

The Roaring Fork offers classic Mickey Waffles for breakfast with your choice of toppings or their special waffle combinations such as the Wilderness Waffles or, my personal favorite, Banana Foster Waffles! First of all, you can't visit Walt Disney World without having Mickey Waffles for breakfast; and you can't go wrong with yummy bananas in a butter rum sauce! In fact, when I tried this dish for breakfast just a few weeks ago, this sauce was so good that I didn't even need to use syrup!

Instead of settling for just an average breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs at your resort's food court, drop by Wilderness Lodge's Roaring Fork and take advantage of an above average menu for a quick service price!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas! If you are Disney fans like us, we are sure you unwrapped some Disney themed gifts, or even gave some Disney gifts yourself, yesterday. Being a Disney family, we did too! Check out some of the Disney gifts we found under our tree on Christmas morning!
I received a book I found at WDW, Disney in Details, along with a Minnie cameo necklace, Mickey socks, and a Dooney and Bourke 40th anniversary wristlet and the new Dooney and Bourke Minnie bow purse!
My Disney Mom received some great Disney gifts too! Check out her Grand Floridian tote and water bottle, a WDW Passport bag charm, and a Disney Dooney and Bourke wristlet! The other members of our Disney family unwrapped Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, a chocolate Mickey pop from the Grand Floridian's gingerbread house, Disney family car decals, and a jar of bath salts from the Grand Floridian's The Basin!

Merry Christmas from A Glass Slipper Vacation!

"While You Were Sleeping"

Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night

Did you know that at Camp Minnie-Mickey at Disney's Animal Kingdom you can find Christmas trees themed after Disney characters? On our recent trip, we set off to find these character trees and we certainly weren't disappointed! We found many of these cute Christmas trees themed after favorite Disney characters that were fun for young and old to find and enjoy!
This tree is themed after the Country Bears!
Here's a close-up look at some of the Country Bears ornaments. I especially like the washboards and the ode to Country Bear Tenessee!
Here is Donald Duck's tree! There is a present from Huey, Dewey, and Louie on the tree and a ship's wheel too.
It's Goofy's tree! All of the ornaments are as silly and random as he is; and the tree topper is his signature hat!
This is Minnie Mouse's tree. My favorite part is her bow at the top of the tree!
It's the Lion King tree, for the popular Festival of the Lion King show which you can find here at Camp Minnie-Mickey! Aren't the animal masks great?
It's Mickey Mouse's tree! Be sure to notice the snowman with mouse ears!
Last, but not least, is the Finding Nemo tree! Kids are sure to enjoy discovering the cute Nemos and Dorys on this tree! There are also little sea turtles here too!

If you ever visit Walt Disney World around the holidays, be sure to take a walk around Camp Minnie-Mickey to find some of these terrific trees! While many of Disney's decorations are larger than life, these simple, yet creative, trees are both festive and charming

Every holiday season at Walt Disney World's flagship resort, the Grand Floridian, you can find a life-size gingerbread house in the lobby! This house is something every guest should see!

From the moment you walk into the lobby, you can smell gingerbread; and the details on this house are incredible from the shutters and trim, to the windows and railing, to the little figures and decorations on the porch and balcony.

You may also find some Disney characters hiding in this gingerbread house, and even some hidden Mickeys!

While this house is fun to look at, it is also a working store! You will actually find Cast Members inside serving guests an array of sweet treats, gingerbread houses, the annual Grand Floridian gingerbread house pin, and even gingerbread ornaments!

Porch details!
Here's the counter of the gingerbread house where you can pick between a gingerbread shingle, like what they used on the roof, or a chocolate treat, or your own gingerbread house to keep in your resort room!
A Hidden Mickey!
Here's a gingerbread treat that I chose from the gingerbread house. It was delicious!
While we wanted to purchase our own little gingerbread house, we were concerned that it would be difficult to transport back to our resort and then back home. Therefore, we decided to buy a gingerbread house ornament instead! Even Mickey and the gang are on this gingerbread house!
