So whether or not you're a fan of the new MagicBands, you've gotta admit that this MagicBand tee is pretty cute!
We came across some unique merchandise at the Flower and Garden Festival and were particularly taken with these cute lip balm packs! Take a look at the labels. They're themed! We really liked the Pirate Pack which reads "tell your tales with four lip liking flavors!"
What a sweet Cinderella mouse ear hat! The bow on top is the perfect touch, don't you think?
We came across this tee in Frontierland. Which mustache fits your mood?
We came across this tank at the American Adventure. Now you can be dapper and patriotic!
It would almost be wrong not to wear this to the Be Our Guest Restaurant!
Bring the style of Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival home with this clever Mickey gardening hat!
First of all, these drawstring bags are the perfect bags to use in the park; and this Flower and Garden Festival design is adorable! Just look at Minnie's bow, it's made out of Lady Bugs!
Want to see my new favorite bag at WDW? It's this vintage canvas tote featuring a gorgeous sketch of a castle, as well as Walt's stitched autograph!
This tote features several old stamps, E-Tickets, and a list of several, original Magic Kingdom lands. It's historical, it's cute, it's stylish... you can't lose with this purchase!
This tote also has a matching wallet, featuring the same design and signature and includes an old fashioned Mickey and Minnie running towards one another on the reverse side. We purchased the wallet, which was a great size and was reasonably priced at only $20 while offering the same design as you would find on the tote.
Anyway, we're really liking the stylish, vintage vibe of these bags and accessories for us grown-up Disney princesses, and we hope that more will come!
There are quite a few new styles and patterns from the popular Disney Dooney and Bourke line these days, and rumor has it that there are more to come! In the meantime, we are showcasing a few of our new favorites! Take a look!
Coming soon is a brand new Dooney just for the 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon!
The subtle pattern showcase's several sketches of Neverland's favorite pixie,
and the leather tag even showcases the event title! This new pattern is offered
in two sizes, the one we have pictured and in another larger size. We are sure
these will be very popular!
This is the new "it's a small world" Tassel Bag showcasing the attraction's
famous design inspired by that of Mary Blair! We think this bag is really cute
and we especially like the fact that it's themed around a favorite attraction!
Wouldn't it be great to see more attraction inspired Dooneys? The "it's a small
world" Tassel Bag is currently $285 and is available online!
In celebration of the 5th Anniversary of Disney Dooney and Bourke bags, new
styles will soon be released! One of the new patterns is this sweet design of
Mickey and Minnie in front of Disney castles, ice cream shops, and little
boutiques, possibly a Main Street USA theme? It's elegant and vintage and is hopefully the only beginning of new
styles to come!
The Minnie Mouse Bow pattern has been around for awhile, and it's one of
personal favorites! But now, new sizes have been added, including this satchel.
We think it's a great size and a great look! It's currently $235 and available
Another new size in the Minnie Mouse Bow pattern is the Weekender Bag! Cute,
right? There's plenty of room for new souvenirs and your favorite pair of Mickey Ears in this bag!
Currently, the price for this Dooney is $360 and it is also available online.
So the Christmas Season is officially in full swing and we trust you are busy browsing the stores and marking off names on your Christmas shopping list, or at least meaning to anyway...
Well, if you happen to be at WDW during this festive time of year, you should keep an eye open for a few gift ideas to add a little magic to your holiday. Need a little inspiration? Check out just a few possible Christmas gifts we've stumbled across at WDW!
What would you buy? Would you like to put a little Disney under your tree this year? Let us know!
If you are visiting Walt Disney World during the holiday season, picking up a few Christmas gifts is surely on your Disney To-Do List along with the usual things, like riding the Monorail, having a Dole Whip, catching Wishes, and the like!
However, the simple task of scratching a few names off of your Christmas shopping list may sound simple enough; but at WDW, where there are shops and carts and tempting window displays at every turn, picking out a gift can be a little overwhelming!
Since it's better to give than receive, we have a few suggestions to help you score those Disney stocking stuffers and dream-worthy gifts! Take a look!
5.) Ornaments - A Christmas ornament is, in our opinion, one of the best souvenirs you can buy! Why? Unlike those dated t-shirts and hats which end up at the bottom of your drawer or in next year's yard sale, ornaments are used year and after year; and with the variety that Disney provides, there's an ornament out there for everyone and every age! Disney has created ornaments for every style, almost every character, and now has some adorable new "shoe" ornaments and "mouse ear" hat ornaments!
4.) Sports Merchandise - Looking for a gift for your guy or the little all-star on your list? Fortunately, Disney owns ESPN and there's quite a bit of sports merchandise to be found on Disney property! Where? Check out the ESPN Club 's store on the Boardwalk, or the Wide World of Sports Complex. Also, Team Mickey's at Downtown Disney has a huge variety of merchandise for the sports enthusiast, such as clothing, gear, collectibles, and more.
3.) Character Plush Pillow - If you haven't heard, plush pillows shaped like animals and fun characters are a big hit with kids these days; and Disney has put their own twist on this best-selling product! Pick up a Disney character plush pillow for the kid on your list that's tough to buy for.
2.) Coffee Mug - You really can't go wrong with this gift, can you? While it may sound a little too generic, think again! Disney has many creative designs and styles, ranging from characters to parks to resorts to Disney history and more!
1.) World Showcase Gifts - For us, Epcot's World Showcase is one of the best places to shop for unique and creative gifts for those on our list. This is because the stores scattered throughout World Showcase offer products that are actually from the country they represent! Just about everything you can think of can be found here, such as English tea and Beatles merchandise from the United Kingdom, sombreros from Mexico, kimonos and Hello Kitty merchandise from Japan, sweaters and knits from Norway, clocks and nutcrackers from Germany, perfume from Italy, and so much more... It's the one way to make sure that your gift isn't something the loved one on your list already has!
With all of the gift shops at Walt Disney World, and all of the magical merchandise to choose from, you may need another bag to carry all of your purchases home with you!
But sometimes, once you get home and several months pass, you find that t-shirt has found its way to the bottom of your drawer, those toys your kids had to have at the bottom of the toy box, and those impulse buys and Disney collectibles in the closet.
Hey, we've all been there! But to keep you from repeating this cycle, we have come up with a list of souvenirs that you will actually use when you get home from vacation.
Kids Costumes-As you will find, a lot of the kids at WDW are dressed in costumes; and Disney has them available just about everywhere! If you purchase a Princess dress or a pirate costume or a Buzz Lightyear suit or anything else of that sort, you could use it again for a costume party or dress-up for the kids back home!
Christmas Ornaments-Ornaments are little pieces of the Disney magic that allow you to reminiscence your vacation memories year after year! The hard part is deciding which one to choose!
Free Toiletries-All Disney Resorts offer free soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and sometimes more in adorable Disney-themed bottles which are great to keep, take home, and use later, perhaps when you're feeling a little homesick for Disney World?
Umbrella-We have learned from experience that an umbrella is great thing to have at Disney due to the frequent, Florida afternoon showers and the occasional downpour; but a Disney umbrella is a souvenir that you won't only use when you're at the parks, but also when you're back at home.
Jackets & Pullovers-Even though they are a little pricey, we still use ours from several trips ago! For something with a little more style and great quality, we suggest stopping by deluxe resort gift shops for resort jackets and hoodies and pullovers.
Board Games-In most shops around the parks and resorts, you can find classic board games with a Disney twist! For example, Disney has their own version of Monopoly, Scrabble, and even a Tower of Terror version of Clue! These souvenirs will not only keep the kids occupied during some vacation down time, but also can be used for years and years to come!
Kitchen Items-Disney has a variety of themed kitchen tools and accessories, ranging from adorable pot holders and canisters to Mickey and Pooh appliances! Who wouldn't want to bring a little bit of pixie dust to their kitchen in a way that they can enjoyed time and time again?
Refillable Mugs-These souvenirs are plastic mugs that you can purchase at your Disney resort or that you might receive free if you purchase the Disney Dining Plan. With these mugs, you can get free refills on soft drinks from resort soda fountains throughout your stay, and then take the mugs home with you to use again and again! There have been some recent changes to Disney's refillable mug system with the new introduction of the Rapid Fill Mugs. Read up on the changes and improvements here!
Pick A Pearl-At Epcot's Japan pavilion, venture inside the massive Mitsukoshi Store to take part in the Pick A Pearl experience! In one part of the store, you will find a tank filled with oysters. A Disney Cast Member will remove the oyster you select, open it, and then let you see the size of the pearl that your oyster was hiding! You can either keep the pearl, or choose to have it set at the store. You choose! This experience is something you won't forget, and you will surely enjoy showing your new piece of pearl jewelry off to your friends!
Cookbooks-Want to recreate some of your favorite Disney dishes at home? Pick up a Disney Cookbook at one of the gift shops and use it when you get back home!
Cell Phone Case-Disney offers a variety of themed phone cases that display characters, park icons, attractions, and even Disney snacks! A themed phone case is a souvenir that will be used on a daily basis and that will showcase your favorite vacation destination!
Coffee Mugs-There are tons of charming coffee mugs for every taste at WDW; and even though it may be a cliché type of souvenir, it is something that can be used long after you've left the parks.
Which of your Disney souvenirs do you still use? Did we forget anything?
A big part of a Disney World Vacation is souvenir shopping! There are gift shops and souvenir carts scattered all throughout the parks and resorts and filled with magical mementos, cuddly characters, sweet treats, collectibles, and much more! If you've been to Walt Disney World, you have surely spent some time at a Disney gift shop; but we bet there are a few things you don't know. So check out our Disney Shopping Secrets to learn a few things about where you purchase your Disney magic!
1.) Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe Christmas Tree-One of the stores at Liberty Square features Christmas products 365 days a year! This is by far one of our favorite spots to browse for a new Christmas ornament; and it's unique in that each room of the shop reflects the profession of a different colonial family. Pay close attention to the details to figure out which room is which. Also, if you arrive early, you may be picked to decorate one of the shop's Christmas trees for the Cast Members! You will also get a sign hung on the tree displaying your name for the day. What a great memory!
2.) Free Shipping-Buying a few souvenirs, but don't want to carry the bags around the parks all day? No problem! When you pay, just ask the cashier to ship it back to your Disney Resort. All you have to do is fill out a few papers and then expect your item at your resort gift shop in the next day or two. Now you don't have to tote around cumbersome baggage, and the service is free! Just make sure that you're not leaving WDW the next day as it may take longer than that for it to reach your resort.
3.) Pin Boards-Are you a pin trader? Each Disney Resort gift shop has their own pin board full of pins that you can trade for! All you have to do is ask!
4.) Stocked Shelves-Have you ever noticed that the shelves in the stores around Walt Disney World are always full? It's not because no one wants a plush Mickey or a princess dress, but rather because Disney has found that people tend to buy more if the shelves are always stocked!
5.) Frontierland Trading Post-One of the best places to buy and trade pins at the Magic Kingdom is the Frontierland Trading Post, not far from the Country Bear Jamboree. This store sells mostly pins, including limited editions, and they have some unique pin boards to look at too! Just ask!
6.) Mickey's of Glendale-This store is Disney Imagineering's exclusive store! Very few people get to visit, unless you work for Disney that is, and not even cameras are allowed inside! The really cool thing about this store is that it offers merchandise you can't find anywhere else!
Looking for a stylish Disney World souvenir? Take a look at these charm bracelets for all of us grown-up Disney Princesses we discovered during a visit to the Grand Floridian!
Bracelets which you can personalize and add beads to are somewhat of a trend right now; and Disney has put their own spin on this stylish product with colorful Mickey-shaped beads, as well as sets of beads themed after popular Disney characters and princesses!
As you can see in the picture below, you can add a starfish and seashell for Ariel, a rose and book charm for Belle, Cinderella-blue colored bead and a slipper for Cinderella! You can mix and match your favorite characters, color coordinate the different shades of Mickey beads, and more.
Like the popular Disney pins, these bracelets and beads and bead sets have a color on the back that represents its price, so be sure to look at the guide when choosing what to buy or determining what fits your budget.
Remember to look for these bracelets and beads during your next trip. It would make a fashionable souvenir for yourself and serve as a daily reminder of the Disney magic and the memories you've made. It might also be the answer for what to get that Disney fan waiting back home!
One of our favorite shopping spots at Walt Disney World is the Grand Floridian Resort, which offers not only one but several shops for you to browse through!
Our personal favorite is Summer Lace, a women's boutique filled with everything for an elegant, stylish, pixie dusted stay at Disney's most luxurious resort. At Summer Lace, you can shop for Disney Dooney and Bourke bags, look over their selection of jewelry, find a dress for your dinner at Victoria and Alberts, and even find a swimsuit!
However, what we come looking for at Summer Lace is unique, Grand Floridian merchandise so we can live "grand" even after we have returned home. There is no place else at WDW where you can find Grand Floridian merchandise, at least not that we know of, and we are always eager to find a gorgeous souvenir from one of our favorite resorts!
Grand Floridian merchandise varies from time to time. In past visits, we have Grand Floridian tote bags and charming key chains; but here is a look at some of the resort merchandise from this past summer!
Summer Lace had a display of Grand Floridian bottles, mugs, and t-shirts! How cute and elegant!
For something more on the comfy side, how about a Grand Floridian t-shirt! We really like the logo!
Here are a few more bottles. One thing is for sure, the Grand Floridian is prepared to keep you hydrated!
One of our personal favorites is this Grand Floridian Mary Poppins t-shirt. We have a feeling Mary Poppins is going to be big this year with Disney's new film, "Saving Mr. Banks," coming to theaters soon.
On the sleeve, you can find the Grand Floridian's logo!
Since we are A Glass Slipper Vacation, we have a special appreciation and fascination with all things that have to do with Cinderella's Glass Slipper. So indulge with us as we showcase some Glass Slipper inspired merchandise that you can find at the parks now! Take a look!
Now you can have a Glass Slipper as your antennae topper! Cheap and cute!
How about these sticky notes? There's a Glass Slipper shaped pad in there!
One of our personal favorites, the popular Cinderella shoe ornament!
At the glass shops throughout Walt Disney World, you can find actual Glass Slippers! But not to wear, of course, but to collect and display!
Hungry? How about a Glass Slipper cookie?
Look at this cute tote bag we found at the Magic Kingdom! Cinderella is holding a glass slipper; and if you look closely, you can see a glass slipper charm.
Do you get into pin collecting? We sure do! This pin package looks like the princess shoe ornaments; and of course, Cinderella's is there!
