However, there are some attractions at WDW that offer FastPasses that don't really need them. This wastes your FastPass opportunities and valuable vacation time! That's why we have composed a list of attractions that you should definitely save your FastPasses for when you visit, so you won't fall victim to those that don't.
Peter Pan's Flight-This Fantasyland attraction is notorious for its long, long lines; but that doesn't mean you should skip it as it is a classic Magic Kingdom attraction and one of Disney's best! If you don't ride Peter Pan's Flight first thing in the morning, or right before closing, you will be facing a long, hot wait. Therefore, this is definitely an attraction worth getting a FastPass for.
Space Mountain-Tomorrowland's most popular, and most thrilling, ride is Space Mountain, an indoor coaster that makes you feel like you're rocketing through space! It takes place mostly in the dark and has been thrilling guests for decades. This attraction usually has a long, long wait, so definitely put it on your FastPass list!
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin-From time to time, you may find a short wait for this ride; but as this is hit and miss, you may want to get a FastPass. This ride is popular and great for all ages, as well as gives you the chance to compete against your family! Don't miss it!
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh-Another Fantasyland favorite is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, where you board a hunny pot and venture into the pages of the Winnie and Pooh storybook. Naturally, this kind of attraction packs in the crowds; and while there are a few times during the day when the wait may be reasonable, it may wise to snatch a FastPass when you can.
Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid-One of the Magic Kingdom's newest attractions, found in the New Fantasyland, this ride takes guests via clamshell under the sea to experience Ariel's journey from the classic film. It's family friendly, colorful, immersive, and a lot of fun. Since it is so new, the lines fill up quick; but if the wait is reasonable, you may want to forego the FastPass to experience this attraction's amazingly detailed queue. However, if not, a FastPass may be best!
What about Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Jungle Cruise? In our experience, these popular attractions don't always have long waits. Big Thunder and the Jungle Cruise rarely have long or unreasonable waits in the evening hours, particularly during the parade and fireworks; and Splash Mountain can accommodate quite a few guests at one time, as well as has a long, winding queue making part of the wait just getting to where the line begins. Although, if you don't have the time or flexibility, then grab a FastPass for one of these rides.
Soarin'-One of the most popular rides in all of WDW, Soarin' is notorious for long, long waits; and since the FastPasses usually run out early, it can be difficult to even get a chance to ride this attraction. Unless you arrive right when the park opens, or are there right before it closes, get a FastPass as soon as you can. You won't be sorry!
Test Track-This newly refurbished ride sure draws the crowds, and for good reason! The lines are long most of the day, so get there early or get a FastPass for whatever time you can.
Rock n' Roller Coaster-This coaster is one of the WDW's most thrilling and the only one to take you upside down! It usually has a long line of guests waiting to rock out, so be sure to get a FastPass!
Toy Story Midway Mania-Along with Soarin', this attraction has the longest waits and is known to run out of FastPasses by the afternoon, if not earlier! When Hollywood Studios opens for the day, there is usually a stampede towards this ride. What should you do? Join in for a short wait in line or get a FastPass ASAP!
What about Tower of Terror and Star Tours? Both of these attractions typically have quick moving lines or have times during the day when the wait is light or at least reasonable. Therefore, we think it's smarter to save your FastPasses for the other popular attractions that don't have these perks.
Expedition Everest-One of our favorites, Expedition Everest is an indoor/outdoor coaster that goes both backwards and forwards! It's a fast, smooth ride through a really impressive mountain where you try to outrun the legendary yeti! While the line is pretty cool to see, we recommend getting a FastPass if the wait is over 20 minutes. However, Animal Kingdom closes much earlier than other parks, so keep that in mind!
Kilimanjaro Safaris-This attraction is about as close as you can get to an actual African safari. You never know what you might see! The line for this ride, while covered, is long and outdoors. Plus, it's really popular! So ride it first thing in the morning or definitely get a FastPass!
