Looking for a little something extra to make your Disney vacation even more memorable? We have some info that will help spread a little more pixie dust, or maybe spark some extra creativity of your own! Either way, this page is to help you create extra magical Disney memories!

Restaurants

Which magical Disney restaurant can help you celebrate an event or give an extra magical experience?

Cinderella's Royal Table
: This restaurant is located inside of Cinderella Castle; and while the food isn't the star, the setting and princess characters are! For some extra pixie dust on your Disney vacation, book an ADR (advance dining reservation) for this restaurant ASAP. This is the perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion or for a proposal.
If there is one "special place" at Disney to "do it up right"  this would be my pick. If you are planning on celebrating or proposing, let Disney know when you make your reservation. You can also order a special cake or dessert to help you "pop the question."

Be Our Guest: This restaurant takes you inside the Beast's castle, from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, to experience a French cuisine and Disney magic! Note: During the day, Be Our Guest is a counter service location. The dining rooms of Be Our Guest is what makes this restaurant a magical experience, especially if you get to dine in the forbidden West Wing which houses the enchanted, wilting rose or the grand ballroom where snow falls gently outside the windows!

California Grill:  This signature restaurant is located at the very top of the Contemporary Resort! The menu here is famous; but what really sets this restaurant apart is the bird's eye view of Magic Kingdom. At night, the restaurant turns down the lights and pumps in music from Wishes, the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks display, so you can enjoy the show from a whole new view.

Desserts

Celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or looking to propose? Check out this Cinderella themed dessert that is sure to add a dash of pixie dust to your celebration!

Available only at Cinderella's Royal Table, and the Grand Floridian's Citricos, Narcoosees, Grand Floridian Café, 1900 Park Fare, and afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge, this dessert features a solid chocolate glass slipper filled with whipped cream, a few delectable extras, and personalization! When you order, you can have any message you wish written in chocolate on the plate!

If you are interested in this dessert, you need to be aware that the arrangement of the dessert may vary if you are dining at Cinderella's Royal Table as opposed to any of the Grand Floridian restaurants. Also, a white chocolate slipper is usually standard for the Grand Floridian Resort as well, so be prepared for that possibility.

Tours

Disney World offers a variety of tours to give guests a look behind the magic and to learn and experience more of Disney! You can see a list of all the tours Disney World has to offer here; and then read on to see what tours we would recommend!

Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour-This tour  focuses on the most magical, and popular, theme park of all, the Magic Kingdom. Guests 16 years and older have the chance to be educated about the history behind the park, learn a few secrets, ride an attraction or two, and get to venture into the famed Utilidors! Awesome, right? Spoiler: During your Keys to the Kingdom Tour, we got the chance to ride a classic Disney attraction in a way that few guests ever will and were treated to a special souvenir! We highly recommend it!

Backstage Magic Tour-The granddaddy of all Disney tours, this lengthy tour takes guests to all four of the parks and even to a resort! There is a lot to see and experience on this tour, including the Utilidors under the Magic Kingdom. However, guests must be 18 years and old to enjoy this tour.

Other Extras

Picture

*Birthday Buttons-Pick up a "Birhday Button" at Town Hall at Magic Kingdom or ask at your WDW resort front desk. We have celebrated with a button and received special birthday greetings from cast members and guests all day! You may also get some special park perks; but these aren't guaranteed.  We celebrated an "UNBIRTHDAY" as well.  We were encouraged to do so as our son's birthday has been impossible to celebrate at WDW due to school obligations.  We were encouraged at check in by a cast member to do so and it was a lot of fun. After all, why not celebrate one of the other 364 days of the year?

*There are more "Celebration Pins" for events or milestones that you might be celebrating on your WDW vacation.

*Magical Packages-DIsney also allows you to add extra magic to your room in the form of a package, floral arrangement, decorations, etc. These are wonderful extras and may give you ideas for what you can do yourself

*Hidden Mickey Guides-At some Disney resorts, particularly deluxe resorts, ask at the front desk for a Hidden Mickey guide to do a little hunting through the resort!

*Movies Under the Stars-Many of the Disney resorts, particularly the deluxe resorts, show Disney movies on a screen outdoors for guests to enjoy for free! Check the resort packet you receive upon check-in for a schedule.

*Free Tour at Wilderness Lodge-Check out the free tour offered at the WIlderness Lodge Resort! On this tour, a guide takes you through the resort educating you about the historical artifacts and more!

*Disney Dollars-At the parks and resorts, you can exchange your cash for money that displays Disney characters instead of presidents! While this currency is worthless off property, it can be used at Disney and is especially fun for kids!

*Movies Under the Stars-At many Disney Resorts, particularly the Deluxe Resorts, there are free outdoor Disney movies every night (weather permitting) on large screen under the stars! You can ask for schedule at the resort's front desk. The best part of this activity is that it's free and you don't have to be a resort guest to watch!

*Animal Kingdom Lodge Wildlife-Live African wildlife roams free outside of Animal Kingdom Lodge's Jambo House and Kidani Village; and there are dozens upon dozens of excellent viewing areas where you can watch these animals, as well as nearby Cast Members waiting to answer any of your questions! Visit the front desk and ask for a wildlife guide, you can identify the animals and keep track of the ones you find, as well as the ones you need to find; also, if you visit at night, take advantage of the free night vision goggles available to continue to watch those magnificent animals!

*Personal Celebrations-Are you heading to Walt Disney World to celebrate a milestone or family reunion or a personal event? If so, Disney has a variety of packages, extras, and more to help you Customize Your Celebration!

Early Birds

Picture
Even though you're on vacation, you can make much better use of your time, and experience a little extra magic, if you get up early and hit the park when they open. Plus, even during peak season, you will get the chance to walk on some of Disney's most popular attractions!

Opening Shows-At most of the parks, there is a small, opening ceremony before guests are allowed to enter! The best opening show takes place at the most magical park of all, the Magic Kingdom! Popular characters entertain above on the Train Station for you and the guests below! Also, as you enter, you may get to greet the Mayor of Main Street U.S.A. himself and take a ride on one of the Main Street vehicles.

World Showcase-This part of Epcot opens later than the rest of the park; but if you enter as soon as it opens, you may encounter a little extra magic! For example, as we walked into France when World Showcase opened for the day, France's Cast Members were there welcoming us with Mickey Gloves and a French Flag! There are also seems to be more characters out during this time than usual.

FastPasses-While we can't guaranteee this possiblity, we have been granted a bonus FastPass when we were the first to use one of the FastPass machines one morning at the Magic Kingdom. While it was only a FastPass for Mickey's Philharmagic, which usually doesn't have a long wait, it was still awesome and free!

Characters-When guests first arrive in a park, there seems to be more characters out and about than usual! This is definitely a great time to get some pics and autographs!
